I have not written for quite a while and intend on making it a regular thing again…and am going to start with the obvious impending Christmas in a moment. However before I could even think about Christmas this year, have been planning my cousins wedding centrepieces for the tables and coming up with ideas. She had 2 functions to do them for, an Indian party and her formal wedding. The Indian wedding as was full of colour needed something that was simple yet effective. We looked and thought of many ideas and finally came up with bird cages with flowers in pink added along with gold butterflies to compliment my cousins outfit.
Then this weekend just gone we had the formal wedding and as is getting Christmassy now, she wanted to incorporate that into the centrepieces for that. We went for wreaths with a candle and hurricane in the middle with some fresh flowers added at the end. I think these looked quite good and was quite happy with the outcome. Added some pine cones and mini baubles and berries in silver and white for the Christmas effect.
Now the wedding is over, on to my Christmas tree and decorating it! Got straight on to it the next day…I love my Christmas tree theme and feel in this world of grey that is everywhere, nice to have a bit of colour! I have some new additions this year to show the love of travel!! Found these in a local garden centre and good old Primark had the aeroplane and carry on luggage!!
Last week I also changed a garland that I was not happy with and changed it to how I thought it looked much nicer. Hope you like it too!!
Well on Sunday, was the first of my brother’ weddings! The legal civil ceremony….the Sikh wedding will be at the end of August with a couple of other parties thrown in between!!!
The day was beautiful, the forecast rain did not arrive and was very hot in the end…at points, bit too hot!
The ceremony and the location of Pennyhill Park in Surrey were beautiful as was the bride!
It was so wonderful to see all the family together and spend time with them and friends.
The array of colours and styles of outfits were amazing. From quite simple maxi dresses to ornately decorated sarees and everything in between!!
So the time has nearly arrived. All that waiting for over a year has nearly come to an end…my brother gets married tomorrow!!
So in Wednesday night, after I got my altered dress back, looked at my shoe options and realised that none went with the dress….PANIC!!
So I had my eye on a pair on eBay that I wanted for after the Sikh wedding in August.
Had to ask if they could guarantee I would get them by Friday!!
I ordered on Thursday and they arrived yesterday!! So glad.
They are gorgeous.
Well off to get hair cut this morning etc and then time to de-hairify this evening!!!!
Ok, so my brother is getting married this month…
As it’s a Sikh wedding, there are a few different occasions, each requiring a different outfit of course!!
So this weekend I was trying some updos, not with much luck, I hasten to add!! So I thought I would try the dress on that I would wear with that hairstyle…
Now this dress was made to measure, especially for me in the colour I wanted a few months ago now (as we have been looking for outfits for a while) and it had fit perfectly….until this weekend!!
When I tried it on it was loose!!!
Woohoo! I had been trying to lose some weight but didn’t think I had succeeded…I obviously have as the dress needs taking in!!
Well nice surprise I must say…
Will keep you updated with the latest wedding updates. Not long to go, have been waiting for ages!
I think I should try the other outfits on too now to make sure!!
